Run club in Windsor
Datchet Dashers is a running club founded in 1981 in Datchet and now based at Home Park in Windsor. It is primarily a road-running club that also runs off-road in winter, with members racing distances from 800m and 5km up to ultra-marathons. Adult runners aged 18 to 80+ of all abilities are welcome, and the club also holds post-run pub evenings and other social events.
Sessions are held at 19:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Windsor Cricket Club, Home Park. Tuesdays are usually speedwork or threshold running; Thursdays are runs of 5 to 8 miles depending on the season, with runners grouped by ability. Details of planned sessions are on the club's training schedule page. New runners are advised to attend a Tuesday session first so their ability can be assessed, and can run with the club for a few weeks before joining. An annual beginners' course (0-5K) starts at 19:00 on Tuesdays at Home Park, running from 12 May to 14 July, led by qualified coaches and finishing with the Datchet Dashers Summer 5K; registration is via a form on the website. Visitors are asked to contact the men's captains Chris Hunt and Rob Foster or ladies' captain Emily Gow before a first visit. The club is affiliated to England Athletics and the Association of Running Clubs. No membership fees are stated on the site. England Athletics affiliated club.
