Run club in Shawinigan
Club Milpat Mauricie is a road running club for the Mauricie region of Quebec, describing itself as a reference point for athletics and road running locally. It aims to support runners in reaching their personal goals through professional coaching in a friendly environment. Coached group sessions are held in Shawinigan and Trois-Rivières, plus winter group runs over 3 km, 5 km and 10 km in which runners split into small groups by pace.
Shawinigan training runs are held twice a week, led by Michel St-Pierre; in summer they take place on the Centre Gervais Autos cycle path and in winter they move indoors at the Centre Gervais Autos. A weekly Monday session runs at Parc Pie XXII in Trois-Rivières from 4 May to 29 June under master coach Yvon Fiset, with September dates to be confirmed. Winter Sunday group runs take place from 19 October to 19 April, meeting in the car park of the Pavillon des Humanités in Trois-Rivières, with 3 km, 5 km and 10 km routes and small groups formed by pace. A full calendar of training sessions and activities is published on the club website, where contact details can also be found. The club also distributes a Milpat club shirt at its season-opening event and at the Shawinigan training sessions in May.
