Guide

Run club levels.

Every JOG club picks a level so runners know what to expect before turning up. Here's what each one means.

Beginner

Beginner

Friendly, easy-paced runs where everyone's welcome and nobody gets left behind. Walking breaks are part of the deal.

The right fit if you're brand new to running, getting back into it, or you just don't want to head out alone. Most beginner clubs stick to shorter routes, but plenty mix in a longer one now and again.

Intermediate

Intermediate

For runners who've got a few months under their belt. Expect a steady, honest pace, broadly in the 5:00–6:00 per km range, across a mix of distances.

Advanced

Advanced

For experienced runners who want to train seriously with like-minded people. Quick paces, proper structured sessions, and a focus on actually getting better.

These are guidelines, not strict rules. If you're unsure which level fits, message the host through the club chat before turning up. And if a club doesn't match its label, you can report it from the club page.
