Run club in Camberley
Windle Valley Runners is a road and trail running club formed in 1989 and based in the village of Windlesham on the Surrey/Berkshire border, drawing members from Chobham, Bagshot, Lightwater, Frimley, Camberley, Sunningdale and Ascot. It has over 200 members aged from 18 to 70+, with paces from about 6 to 12 minutes per mile, including both racers and recreational runners. Sessions include social group runs, interval training, time trials and a monthly 10K handicap, at a variety of venues around the area.
The club has at least three organised sessions a week plus parkrun: Tuesday interval training suitable for all levels from novice to advanced, Thursday 5-7 mile road/trail runs, Saturday parkrun and Sunday morning social group runs in off-road locations, with runs grouped by similar speed. Track sessions are held in nearby Bracknell once a month during the summer. Regular running locations include Windsor Great Park, Chobham Common and Swinley Forest, and venues vary week to week as shown on the club running diary. The club runs a Couch to 5K programme for beginners, competes in the Thames Valley Cross-Country League in winter, and holds a monthly 10K handicap race, time trials and social events. Membership can be completed online via the Join The Club page (details of cost and benefits are given there); newcomers can also turn up at any club run and introduce themselves. Several UK Athletics-qualified coaches lead and take part in training sessions. Club kit can be ordered online, and contact is via the Contact Us page. England Athletics affiliated club.
