Run club in Vancouver
Vancouver Falcons Athletic Club (VFAC) is a not-for-profit, member-led senior and masters running club in Vancouver, BC, formed in 1987. It offers two coached group workouts a week led by a club coach, alternating between track sessions and interval sessions on road and trail, and members represent the club in local and regional road, track, cross country and trail races. Sessions suit middle- and long-distance runners from elite competitors to recreational runners, and are usually followed by a social at a nearby cafe or pub.
Full annual membership allows members to attend as many coached group workouts as they wish; the two weekly sessions alternate between track work and interval sessions on road and trail. Prospective members are invited to two free trial workouts, and basic BC Athletics insurance coverage (about $15.75, valid for the year) is required to take part; trial dates and insurance are arranged through the club coach, whose contact details are on the club website. Members also meet informally on other days, particularly for Sunday long runs, and often gather afterwards for coffee or food. The club organises the Summerfast 10km road race and the VFAC Track Series. Athletics Canada affiliated club (via AthleticsReg; Cross Country, Marathon & ยฝ Marathon, Road Running, Trail Running).
