Run club in Carshalton
Sutton & District Athletics Club is a community athletics club in South London/Surrey, formed in 1985 from the merger of Sutton and Cheam Harriers and Mitcham AC. It caters for athletes from age 10 (school year 5) to Masters across track and field, cross country and Sportshall, with qualified coaches for each event group. It is a competitive club: members are expected to train regularly and to compete in at least 75% of the league competitions they are eligible for.
Adult and senior running groups (U15 and above) include sprints (Tuesday and Thursday 18:30-20:30 plus Sunday mornings), middle distance and cross country (Tuesday and Thursday 18:00-20:30 plus additional sessions set by the coaches), and hurdles (Tuesday and Thursday 18:00-19:00 plus an additional Sunday session set by the coach); field event groups also train midweek. Coaches ask for a minimum of two training days a week. To join, complete the online registration form; the club then emails when a space is available and invites you to a couple of trial sessions, and asks that you do not turn up on a club night unannounced. Membership runs 1 January to 31 December, with a £30 joining fee for new members (includes a club vest), the England Athletics registration fee of £23 for 2026, and fees paid through a LoveAdmin account; further coaching, training, transport or kit costs may apply. Club fees do not cover entry to or membership of David Weir Leisure Centre, so members also need to arrange membership with Everyone Active. Membership queries: sadacmembership@gmail.com.
