About

Sowerby Bridge Snails Running Club is an inclusive club in Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire, open to all ages and abilities and based on the idea that anyone can run. Club runs go out from Sowerby Bridge on Monday and Wednesday evenings, with runners split into pace groups led by volunteer run leaders and a stated policy of never leaving a runner behind. Alongside the runs the club has a social side, championship races and charity fundraising.

Club nights are Monday and Wednesday, with runners divided into ability groups (for example "medium steadies") led by club run leaders, plus social runs on the last Friday of the month and a club championship with six divisions. A Couch to 5k programme runs each January and February, finishing with a graduation run, and past intakes have gone on to join the club and to train as run leaders. Membership is booked through the website and is offered at standard and concession rates; a membership confirmation email serves as proof of membership instead of physical tags. The club uses Sowerby Bridge Cricket Club as its home, and also has Facebook and Strava groups for members. New runners are asked to use the "contact us" form on the website for more information about joining. England Athletics affiliated club.
