Run club in Bristol
Southville Running Club is a Bristol club, founded in 2007, for runners aged 18 and over of mixed abilities. Runs range from gentle social routes around Bristol and the harbourside and 5km run/walk groups to training sessions for those working on speed and racing. Members run in pace-based groups led by Group Leaders, and many also take part in road and trail races.
Sessions run every Tuesday and Thursday, meeting from 18:00 for an 18:15 start; new runners are asked to arrive by 18:10. Runners split into groups organised by pace in minutes per mile, each led by a Group Leader, some of whom hold England Athletics accredited running leadership qualifications; some groups do full training sessions, others are guided runs. A fee of 50p per run covers use of the Southbank Club facilities, and annual membership is recommended at ยฃ4 a year (details on the Members tab). Hi-viz clothing is mandatory from autumn until the clocks go forward in spring, with some spare items available to borrow. There is space to leave bags at the club (not secure or insured) and lockers can be rented from the Southbank Club for a ยฃ5 deposit; bikes can be locked in the garden behind the venue. Joining is via the New Members form online, and there is a mailing list with monthly news plus a Facebook page for social updates. England Athletics affiliated club.
