Royal Wootton Bassett Hounds Running Club is a small club in Royal Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire, affiliated to England Athletics. Its main activity is road running, with member interests also covering trail running, cross country, triathlon and cycling, and it welcomes people of all abilities, whether racing competitively or running for fitness. The main club night is Wednesday, when runners set off in several pace-based groups on routes of 4 to 10 miles around the town and surrounding countryside.
Sessions are Wednesday group runs at 18:30 with several groups based on pace and distances from 4 to 10 miles, and Monday hill and speed coaching sessions at 18:30 on alternating weeks. The club meets at the Royal Wootton Bassett Sports Association, which has a meeting area, changing rooms, showers and a cafe with bar. Membership is run on a non-profit basis; full members get England Athletics affiliation with discounted entry to races held under UK Athletics rules, access to the club ballot for London Marathon places, and membership of the Sports Association. New members can attend three weeks of sessions before deciding whether to join, and ten-week beginner sessions are offered for ยฃ15 with no obligation to join. The club organises its own races (Lungbuster, a 9-mile off-road event, and the Broad Town 5), runs road and off-road club championship series, and enters teams in the Wiltshire Road Race League and Wiltshire Off-Road Race League.
