Ranelagh Harriers is a cross-country and road running club based in Richmond, Surrey, formed in 1881. It caters for runners of all abilities, from people aiming at their first parkrun to experienced athletes targeting marathon times. Training is coached and takes place twice a week, with runs in Richmond Park, riverside towpaths, trails and quieter roads, plus track sessions at Osterley.
Tuesday sessions start from the clubhouse at 19:00 and are split into five groups led by UKA qualified coaches, based on current 5k time: Intermediate 3 (anyone who can complete 5km), Intermediate 2 (sub 30 minutes), Intermediate 1 (sub 25 minutes), Advanced 2 (19-21 minutes) and Advanced 1 (sub 19 minutes). Thursday sessions are interval training at Osterley Track from 19:30, open to everyone, with changing facilities at the Osterley Sports and Athletic Centre available. All sessions include a warm-up jog, drills, a main set of 15-40 minutes and a cool-down; weekly themes include intervals, hill work and speed work. Training is free for members, and several membership categories are offered including England Athletics registration and free entry to internal and external events. Newcomers can attend a free taster session with no obligation to join. A ladies-only beginners Couch to 5k course runs annually in Richmond Park on Tuesdays at 19:00 over eight weeks in summer. The club also organises a 10K and half-marathon event and member-only events. England Athletics affiliated club.
