Overton Harriers & AC — a run club in BASINGSTOKE. England Athletics affiliated club. Activities: cross country, road running, track field, trail running.
Training includes a Monday social/recovery run on trail and road around Overton, covering anything from 5k to around 7 miles with no runner left behind, and a Thursday club night mixing intervals, fartlek, hills and club races with a coach-led warm-up from the recreation centre; further sessions take place on Tuesday and Sunday. Members compete in the Hampshire Road Race League, Hampshire Cross Country League and Southern Counties Championships, plus the Southern Athletics League and the Hampshire Vets League for over 35s. The club also hosts two annual races, the Overton 5 (Hampshire Road Race League, usually early September) and the 16-mile Combe Gibbet cross country race. Prospective members can attend a few sessions free of charge before joining; membership details are explained after a trial. Contact is via the enquiry form on the website.
