Run club in Maryport
Netherhall Athletics Club is a running club based in Maryport, west Cumbria, established in March 2018. Its members range from young to old and from competitive racers to social runners, and activities cover racing, training and social running on fells, trails and roads. Sessions are planned for a range of abilities using modified routes and similar-ability groups.
Training is twice weekly and led by qualified and experienced coaches: Tuesday is generally a road-based interval or speed session starting from Netherhall Community Sports Centre at 18:00, and Thursday is a mixed-terrain steady run in similar ability groups starting from a different venue each week. A Sunday social run is organised on average once a month, usually on trails or fells and often finishing at a pub or cafe. Runs are advertised through the Spond app. Members should be able to run around 4 miles, though pace is not important. Membership includes affiliation with England Athletics and Northern Athletics with discounted race entry, club championships, training and session plans, route maps, and access to the private Facebook and WhatsApp groups. Prospective members can attend a few sessions before joining by sending a message via the contact page; membership is completed through the SiEntries website. A code of conduct and club constitution are published on the site. England Athletics affiliated club.
