Run club in Melbourne
Mornington Peninsula Athletic Club (MPAC) is an athletics club on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, founded in 1975 as Peninsula Road Runners. It covers track, field, cross country, road racing and relays, and caters for juniors, masters, beginners, para-athletes, elite athletes, and women and girls. Members train in club groups with coaching support and can compete in Athletics Victoria seasons, with distance running still a core part of the club.
The club offers structured training and coaching, plus pathways into Athletics Victoria competition: XCR in winter (cross country, road races and relays) and AVSL in summer (track and field interclub). Members can also enter specialist meets, including Victorian Milers middle-distance races from 800m to the mile, where runners are grouped by ability, and receive discounted entry fees. Each year the club runs an altitude training camp at Falls Creek from 28 December to 3 January, based in a shared lodge with group runs and structured sessions on trails such as Mount Nelse, Langfords Gap, the Aqueduct trails and Mount McKay. Membership options are available for different ages and goals; joining details and contact details are on the club website. Athletics Victoria athletics club.
