Run club in Southampton
Lordshill Road Runners is a Southampton running club founded in 1982 that welcomes runners of all abilities, from complete beginners to competitive runners. Training sessions are graded for different levels and run on Monday and Wednesday evenings almost every week of the year. Members also race in local leagues, including CC6 cross country in winter, RR10 in summer and the Hampshire Road Race League.
Coached and run-leader-led training sessions take place on Mondays and Wednesdays, with formats covering everyone from newcomers to competitive runners; coaches and run leaders usually take bank holidays off. Members also arrange informal runs at other times and take part in parkrun, cross country and road race leagues, plus social events such as the annual Billy Bash awards evening. The club is affiliated to England Athletics, SEAA, HAA and UKA, and is a non-profit organisation. Membership is open to those aged 17 and over and applications must be made in writing; an annual subscription is set by the committee each year and members are encouraged to pay by the end of February. New runners are invited to come along to a Monday night session; contact lordshillroadrunners@gmail.com or the club's Facebook page (Facebook.com/LordshillRoadRunners).
