Run club in Huddersfield
Longwood Harriers AC — a run club in Huddersfield. England Athletics affiliated club. Activities: cross country, hill fell, race walking, road running, track field, trail running.
The club trains at Leeds Road, Huddersfield and also uses Cleckheaton Athletics Track, as the Leeds Road facilities no longer cater for the full range of athletics events. Coach numbers are limited, so new members may be placed on a waiting list; prospective members must contact the club first rather than turning up at a training session, and may be asked to attend a new members meeting. The first two training sessions are free, after which a membership application form must be completed and fees paid by bank transfer and standing order. For 2026-7, subscriptions are £55 per year for those aged 20 and over (£45 for under 20s, with a £25 discounted rate for a second family member), plus a training fee of £10 per month by standing order or £3 per session. Subscriptions are due by 1 April and cover UK Athletics insurance, England Athletics membership, Northern Athletics membership, coaching, help with competition entries and entry to team events (YADAL). Club colours must be worn in all races, and vests can be bought from the club. Club events include the Derek Ibbotson Track Mile races and the Castle Hill races; an AGM is held in November and a prize presentation in March. Initial contact requires the athlete's full name, date of birth, a contact email and the name of a parent or guardian. England Athletics affiliated club.
