Run club in Bournemouth
Littledown Harriers is a social running club based in Bournemouth, established in 1990 at the Littledown Sports Centre, with over 220 members. It includes competitive runners as well as people running to get and keep fit, covering marathon runners, fun runners and first timers. The club runs an annual Club Championship and competes in the Dorset Road Race League, alongside social events such as an awards night, Christmas party, AGM and post-marathon curry night.
Club sessions run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, setting off promptly at 19:00 from the back of the Littledown Centre, with arrival advised for about 18:50. Sunday runs start from different locations, listed on the club training schedule. Couch to 5k courses are offered on Tuesdays at points through the year (about two nine-week schedules annually, the autumn course starting 8 September at 18:00), followed by a 5k to 5 mile programme to help participants move into the main club sessions; coaches support participants at their own pace. Runners who can cover around 5k are welcome at the main club sessions. The minimum age to join or run with the club at any session, including Couch to 5k and Sunday runs, is 16. First-time visitors, including people running with the club as a one-off while on holiday, are asked to make contact in advance and complete the emergency contact form. Further questions can be sent through the contact form on the website. England Athletics affiliated club.
