Run club in Hailsham
Hailsham Harriers is an East Sussex running club founded in 1984, based at Hailsham Cricket Club Pavilion. It has senior and junior sections and competes in county competitions, while also welcoming newer runners. Senior sessions include club runs from the pavilion, track work at Eastbourne Sports Park and trail running in Abbots Wood.
Senior training runs year-round: Tuesdays 19:00โ20:30 from Hailsham Cricket Club Pavilion; track sessions on the 1st, 3rd (and 5th where it falls) Wednesday of each month at Eastbourne Sports Park Track, Cross Levels Way, Eastbourne BN21 2UF, 19:00 for one hour, with a ยฃ3 charge payable on the night for the track and floodlights (not covered by annual membership). In the spring/summer season, Thursday sessions in weeks without a Wednesday track session run 18:30โ20:00 from The Old Oak Inn, Arlington, and are trail based on grass and gravel paths in Abbots Wood, with members often staying afterwards for food and drink. The club has also run "Sunday Social" off-road sessions on the South Downs at a relaxed pace with regular regrouping. For beginners, the club runs a free Couch to 5K programme (most recently starting Monday 3 March 2025 at 19:00 in Hailsham Country Park) with no registration required; details at hailsham-harriers.org.uk/couch-to-5k or by email to hhailshamC25K@gmail.com.
