Run club in Folkestone
Folkestone Running and Athletics Club is a club based at Three Hills Sports Park in Folkestone, training on the track and surrounding roads. Sessions are coach-led and follow a rolling eight-week plan covering intervals, hills, fartlek, paarlauf and progression runs, plus longer routes such as the Winter 9. Members also race in club events, Kent Cross Country League fixtures and road races around the UK.
Training is on Tuesday and Thursday nights, meeting inside Three Hills for a 6.30pm briefing, followed by a 10-minute warm-up on the track or nearby roads, coach-led dynamic stretching and a main session of approximately 45 to 60 minutes. Sessions follow the head coach's 8-week plan, with track intervals (for example 400m, 800m and 1600m reps with recoveries), hill training on Radnor Cliff in Sandgate, and occasional longer or social runs. Newcomers can attend a few free sessions before joining and are paired with an experienced member.
