Deal Tri Club

Deal Tri is a triathlon club based in Deal, Kent, offering swimming, cycling and running, with a running section open to all abilities. Running training consists of two coached sessions a week plus a monthly Sunday social run. Sessions include track speed work, seasonal social runs in summer and hill sessions in winter.

Running training is led by qualified coach Kevin Brown, who runs two coached sessions per week. The Wednesday track session is at the Duke of York School, Dover, meeting trackside at 18:45 for a safety briefing before the 19:00 start; it runs in all weather and participants must contact Kev in advance to register their vehicle for entry to the school. Track sessions cost £3 per session for members and £4 for non-members, or a book of 10 tickets for £25 paid by transfer to the club account and collected from Kev trackside. Thursday sessions are seasonal: April to October they are social runs with start points that vary week to week (18:50 meet for 19:00 start, details posted on the club Facebook and Instagram pages), and November to March they are hill sessions at the Granville Road entrance to Marke Wood, which are free. A social run known as 3S takes place on the third Sunday of the month at 08:20. Non-members may join a couple of social runs or hill sessions, with the expectation that they then join the club.
