Run club in Exeter
Exeter Harriers is an athletics club founded in 1904, based at the Exeter Arena site, with around 480 junior and senior members. Senior training groups are mixed age and mixed ability and cover endurance running alongside sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws and multi-events. The club competes in leagues across Devon and the South West, including the South West Athletics League and the Westward Cross Country League.
Senior training takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings on the all-weather track; groups start between 19:00 and 19:30 depending on the event group and run until around 20:45, and seniors may not go on the track until the juniors finish at 19:30. Newcomers should arrive by 19:00 on their first visit to complete paperwork and be placed in a group. Training runs all year apart from a fortnight break over Christmas and New Year, and there is no training on the last Tuesday of the month from April to September when the club holds its Evening Open Meetings. Training costs ยฃ3.50 per session for full members (free for active registered volunteers, coaches and officials), ยฃ6.50 for guests, or ยฃ3.50 for registered members of other Devon clubs; payment is by card or the Spond app (join code IVWPJ), with no cash or BACS accepted. Temporary Membership is offered for a trial period, with the first session free, and Guest Membership is available for members of other clubs.
