Desford Striders

Desford Striders is an England Athletics affiliated running club founded in 1991 and based at Sport in Desford (SiD) in Leicestershire. It has over 200 members and caters for runners of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to competitive marathon runners. The club arranges both structured training sessions and club runs, along with regular social events for members and families.

The club runs training sessions and club runs for a range of abilities and holds regular Couch to 5K programmes. All sessions are booked through the Spond app: set up a profile and enter the code "RTIHC" to view and book sessions. Newcomers may attend two sessions before deciding whether to join, and should speak to the Run Leader on arrival to say they are attending on a trial basis. Membership costs £38 per year for adults (1 April to 31 March) or £28 for half-year membership (1 September to 31 March), including membership of Sport in Desford (excluding the gym) and England Athletics affiliation.
