Run club in Manchester
Chorlton Runners is a running club based in south Manchester, covering Chorlton, Whalley Range, Stretford, Sale, Urmston, Didsbury, Withington and Moss Side. It is an England Athletics affiliated club that caters for all forms of running, from absolute beginners to experienced runners, across road, track, trail and fell. Typical activities include social club runs with a range of distances and paces, plus reps, hill and track sessions and team racing.
Sessions include Sunday morning and Tuesday evening social club runs, Tuesday reps, Wednesday hill reps, Friday track, and the Black Sheep hills and fells group which goes out every other week for trail and fell running. A variety of distances and paces is offered and qualified coaches are available. Sunday morning runs are always open to non-members; other sessions can be tried up to three times before joining, with track, hill and Black Sheep try-outs arranged through the membership secretary. No booking is needed for Sunday and Tuesday runs, just turn up. Membership runs 1 April to 31 March; fees (April-September) are £41 first claim with England Athletics affiliation (£32 concession), £16 ordinary or second claim (£7 concession), with a 50% discount for October-December joiners.
