Run club in Chippenham
Chippenham Harriers is a running club in north Wiltshire with around 300 members, catering for runners of all levels who want to train, race and compete. Weekday evening sessions are held at Chippenham Sports Club on Bristol Road and include coached effort sessions, social club runs of five to seven miles and leader-led progression runs. Training nights are for runners aged 17 and over, apart from Wednesday, which is the youth section.
Weekly running sessions are Tuesday coached effort work (intervals and hills), Thursday club runs on predetermined routes of five to seven miles suited to runners comfortable with about six miles, and Friday pack/progression runs aimed at those already covering three miles or more; Monday evenings are physical preparation (strength and conditioning) in the sports dome rather than a run. A beginners course runs once a year, typically starting in May and finishing with the club's 5k River Run in July, with three levels of beginner group and support from experienced leaders; beginners arrive at 18:15 on Fridays. Membership and joining details are on the site's Join/Membership pages; the club also runs an annual Club Championship and organises the Chippenham Half Marathon, Slaughterford 9, Lacock Relays and the 5K River Run. Free parking, changing rooms and showers are available at the sports club. The club is affiliated to UK Athletics, the Association of Running Clubs and England Athletics, and can also be contacted via its Facebook, X and Instagram pages. England Athletics affiliated club.
