Run club in Burgess Hill
Burgess Hill Runners is a club founded in 1993 for runners of all abilities, from people running to keep fit to those competing in races. Wednesday evening sessions are split into five coached groups by distance and pace, and a separate daytime group runs on Tuesday mornings. A typical session includes a 10-15 minute warm-up and steady run, a coached training section, a run back to the start and a ten-minute warm-down.
Wednesday evening groups are Beginners (30-45 minutes, about 2-3 miles/3-5k), Improvers (45-60 minutes, about 3-4 miles/5-6k), Intermediates (60 minutes, about 4-5 miles/6-8k), Development (60 minutes, about 5-6 miles/8-10k) and Advanced (75 minutes, at least 7-8 miles/11-13k); runners can move between groups. Meeting locations change each week and sessions are pre-booked through the club's Coacha booking app, with timings and locations shared weekly by email. In winter (September-March) runs start from locations around Burgess Hill on well-lit routes, with a monthly track session usually on the first Wednesday at Lewes Leisure Centre, Mountfield Road, Lewes (19:45-21:00); in summer (March-August) runs use footpaths in the surrounding countryside. The Tuesday morning daytime group is affiliated to RunTogether and meets at the Triangle Leisure Centre. The club is an England Athletics and Sport England Clubmark club and competes in the West Sussex Fun Run League (5km to 10km races). To join or register, email burgesshillrunners@gmail.com or use the "How Do I Join?" page. The club also runs a walking group on Wednesdays, which is not a running session. England Athletics affiliated club.
