Bradford Airedale AC is a community athletics club based at Horsfall Stadium in Bradford, founded in 1880 as Airedale Harriers and renamed after a 1965 merger with Spen Valley AC. It covers all disciplines and ages, with adult groups for track and field and for road and off-road (trail) running. Sessions are aimed at people of all abilities, including beginners.
Adult training covers track work at Horsfall Stadium and organised road and trail runs, with some road/off-road sessions starting from various locations and others meeting at the Horsfall Stadium pavilion. New members complete a joining form on the site giving current fitness, target distance (from starting to run up to marathon), personal bests and any medical history, so they can be placed with an appropriate group and coach. Annual subscriptions are due at the beginning of April; contact the membership secretary, Joanna Colley, for electronic payment details. For training enquiries contact Chris Hainsworth on 07922 109391 or bradfordairedaleac@yahoo.co.uk. A members-only Facebook page carries details of social events, races, training updates and club championship standings. England Athletics affiliated club.
