About

Bowland Fell Runners is a Lancashire-based fell running club formed to promote fell running in the Forest of Bowland. It is an established fell racing club whose members compete in fell races and relays around Britain, while other members meet simply for social runs on the local fells. Most members live south, west or north of the Forest of Bowland.

The club has around 100 members and runs weekly training activities in and around the fells near Chipping, Lancaster and further afield. The regular sessions listed on the club calendar are a Thursday evening run at Clougha Pike (18:15โ€“20:00) and a weekly Crook o' Lune intervals session on Monday (18:30โ€“19:30); the site states that, for COVID reasons, advance sign-up is currently required for the Crook o' Lune intervals. Members compete in fell races and relays across Britain, and the club also has interest in long and ultra-distance challenges such as the Bob Graham Round, the Bowland 1500s, the Joss Naylor Challenge and two-day mountain marathons (OMM, Saunders Lakeland). The club runs a championship and organises races including the Waddington Fell Race. No membership cost or contact details are given in the text provided. England Athletics affiliated club.
