Training is organised by a team of around eight senior coaches and run leaders (LiRF, CiRF and athletics coaches), who also provide individual structured training plans for members targeting a key race. Main club sessions run on Monday and Wednesday evenings at varying locations in and around Blyth (for example Blyth Sports Centre, Blyth Beach Car Park, Blyth Town FC car park and Northumberlandia), with the current month's venues listed on the monthly training schedule page; typical sessions include hill efforts, pyramid and cruise intervals and 400m paired efforts, and most have longer and shorter options when coach numbers allow. A separate track session takes place at Churchill Playing Fields, Whitley Bay, with a ยฃ1.50 cover charge and limited spaces โ contact Craig Harmon before attending. A non-running strength and conditioning session (ยฃ2) is also offered at Bede Academy. Members are advised to wear high-visibility or bright clothing, especially in the dark. A Couch to 5K programme is available for new runners, and the club runs club competitions such as the Winter Series and a Grand Prix race table.
