Run club in Beckenham
Beckenham Running Club is an England Athletics affiliated club for adults of all ages, with members running 5k in roughly 15 to 30 minutes. The main club night is Wednesday, when group leaders offer a choice of social runs of different distances and paces, with showers and food and drink in the club bar afterwards. The club also runs Monday training sessions, weekend parkrun and race meet-ups, and internal competitions.
Wednesday club nights meet at 18:45 for a 19:00 start at Beckenham Sports Club, with a menu of social runs at various distances and speeds led by group leaders. Monday night training sessions focus on fitness and speed; the location varies each week, but Beckenham sessions typically start at 19:00 either from the club or from the session start point, and include a warm-up and sometimes cool-down. At weekends members meet for parkruns and other organised runs, from social trail runs to races. Club competitions include a monthly handicap race on the second Wednesday of each month around Beckenham Place Park (5km summer course, 5.6km winter course; bring a parkrun barcode), and a Grand Prix of about 12 races a year from 5km to half marathon, mostly 10km and usually on Sundays. The club competes in cross country, the Assembly League and Kent XC League, and hosts an annual team relay in May and a charity trail 10k.
