Run club in BASILDON
Basildon Athletic Club is a competitive athletics club founded in 1955, based at Basildon Sporting Village in Gloucester Park. It caters for athletes from age 10 through to seniors and veterans of all abilities, with coaching across most track and field disciplines including endurance, plus cross country in winter. Adult training is on weekday evenings at the track, with extra coach-led sessions on some Saturday mornings.
Training takes place throughout the year on Monday and Wednesday evenings, with a floodlit track available during the winter months; some coaches also run additional sessions on Saturday mornings. Coaching is offered across most track and field disciplines, including endurance, by qualified volunteer coaches, and the club competes in the Southern Athletics League and Essex Youth Athletics League in summer and the Essex Cross Country League in winter (listed fixtures include Essex Cross Country League rounds at Hylands Park, One Tree Hill and Gloucester Park, and the Eastern Cross Country Championships at Horseheath Racecourse). To join, complete the trial form on the Join Us page, selecting a discipline such as Endurance; the trial session lasts one hour and is scheduled between 18:00 and 20:00 on a Monday or Wednesday, and a club member will then make contact to arrange a date. Membership costs are not stated. Contact is by an email address at basildonathleticclub.com. England Athletics affiliated club.
