Run club in WITHERNSEA
Withernsea Harriers is a small running club established in 1987, covering Withernsea and South East Holderness in East Yorkshire. Membership is an even mix of men and women across a wide range of ages and abilities, and new members over 15 are welcome (under-18s with a responsible adult runner). A typical week is a group training session on Tuesday evening, with handicap club races held through the year.
The club trains as a group on Tuesday evenings at 18:30 at the lighthouse; when a club race is scheduled it instead meets, usually at The Plough Inn, Hollym, also at 18:30. Club races are handicapped by ability so all runners have a chance of winning (for example a 4-mile handicap league race from The Plough Inn). Non-members are welcome to run as guests at all club runs and training sessions, with no obligation to join. There is no charge for training sessions and a couple of pounds for club races. The club is affiliated to England Athletics and UK Athletics, giving members discounted entry to road and cross country races. To join, download the membership application form (Word or PDF) from the website; the club can be contacted by email, including for alternative formats or if you are unsure of session plans. Occasional taster sessions are also run. The club organises the Withernsea 10K Road Race, next scheduled for 5 July 2026. England Athletics affiliated club.
