Spectrum Striders — a run club in Warrington. England Athletics affiliated club. Activities: cross country, hill fell, road running, trail running.
Tuesday track sessions at Victoria Park are led by qualified coaches (mostly UKA level 2 or above) and focus on speed and strength, including core, sprint reps, lactate threshold and hill work; track access is from 18:30, warm-up at 18:45 and the session starts at 19:00, with distance-based and time-based options each week. Spectrum Striders lead the sessions from April to September and Lymm Runners lead them from October to March; weekly details are posted in the Spectrum Striders Facebook group. Social runs are informal and ad-hoc, organised through WhatsApp groups ("Thursday running", "Social Runs", "XC Teams" and "The dark side" for fell running), with the Thursday group usually meeting at 18:15 though start time, location and distance vary; a form on the training page is used to request to join the groups. Cross-country training runs each Sunday from early October until the end of the season in February or early March, meeting at 09:00 for about an hour and suitable for all abilities. The club has a coaching structure allowing members to run with others of similar ability, membership subs are payable to keep access to track sessions, and EA affiliation brings guaranteed London Marathon places allocated by club ballot in October.
