Run club in Prince George
The Prince George Track and Field Club is a non-profit athletics club founded in 1973 that provides track and field programming for people from age 6 through to adult in Northern British Columbia. Its Senior Athletes group covers everyone aged 13 and older, including adult and masters athletes, and the club also promotes road racing and cross country running. Sessions are coached training at Masich Place stadium, with members competing at club, provincial and national meets.
The club runs programs grouped by age: Track Rascals (6-8), Junior Development (9-12) and Senior Athletes (13 years and older), with the senior group open to adults and masters athletes, including people training for the 55+ B.C. Games in throws and other events. Training covers track and field events, and the club's constitution also covers road racing and cross country running. Athletes are coached largely by volunteer coaches, including high-performance coaches. Membership includes BC Athletics membership and insurance, private access to Masich Place stadium, use of club equipment and eligibility for year-end club awards. Indoor registration opens in January and there is a separate outdoor season registration; program and fee schedules, the training/practice calendar and registration links are on the club website. The club is a registered non-profit society in British Columbia, funded in part by a BC Gaming Grant, and states that fees are competitive with other track and field clubs in the province. Volunteers and officials are also recruited through the website. Athletics Canada affiliated club (via AthleticsReg).
