Newmarket Joggers AC — a run club in Newmarket. England Athletics affiliated club. Activities: cross country, race walking, road running, track field. RunAndTalk club (mental-health friendly).
Activities include club training sessions (track and distance), social runs, a monthly 5k handicap, a monthly #RunAndTalk session open to all, seminars, and club leagues and relays such as the Arkwrights' 5k Summer League, Suffolk SOAR Winter League and the Round Norfolk Relay. The club also hosts its own races, including the Newmarket 10K, Newmarket Heath Race and Summer Series 5K. Tuesday and Thursday training runs are led by club leaders in running fitness. There is no minimum performance standard to join, but those joining training sessions are expected to be able to run 6km continuously outdoors; anyone below that or not confident on roads is asked to start with the coached track sessions. Annual membership (1 April to 31 March) is £60 first claim, £30 second claim, £39 social and £31 family discount, with discounts at Up & Running and SportsShoes.com and, for first claim members, an England Athletics competition licence. Prospective members can also attend in person at The Racing Centre, Fred Archer Way, for 6:20pm on an evening when the club meets there; the training page lists which evenings.
