Run club in Rotorua
Lake City Athletic Club is a long-established athletics and running club in Rotorua, New Zealand. It covers running groups, senior track and field, winter harrier and cross country, walking groups and children's athletics, so adults and families can both take part. Typical running is midweek pack runs plus weekend cross country and road runs on local trails, forest and farmland.
Activities include running groups, winter harriers and cross country, senior track and field, and walking groups, plus dedicated running clinics from January to May aimed at the Rotorua marathon, half marathon and 10km. Pack runs leave in the afternoons during the week, kept shorter in winter because of the daylight, while weekends in winter are used for cross country and road running in the Redwoods, farmland and local reserves. Members also travel to inter-club events around the Bay, the Waikato and nationally; club-only membership covers most events, but Athletics NZ registration is required to be eligible for placings. Subscriptions run for 12 months from the date of payment (financial year starting 1 April) and registration is only accepted online through the club registration portal, with renewals handled by logging in and selecting "Renew"; further contact details are on the club website. Athletics NZ affiliated club (seniors, masters, half-marathon training, harriers / cross-country).
