Run club in Catford
Kent AC is an athletics club in South East London covering road running, cross-country and track and field, based at Ladywell Arena in Lewisham. Membership is a mix of men, women and juniors across all abilities, from fun runners getting fit to international athletes, with 600+ members in total. Sessions are run in coached training groups at the track on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
There are four senior training groups led by qualified coaches: A group (Ken Pike), B group (Stuart Beaney), C group (Ted Aston) and a women's group (Gen Blanche); anyone unsure which group suits them can contact the coaching secretary at coachingsec@kentac.org.uk. Non-members are welcome to try the training groups, and prospective joiners are asked to come along at 19:00 on a Tuesday at Ladywell Arena. Club membership runs 1 April to 31 March and is handled online through membermojo.co.uk with payment by PayPal, Stripe, BACS or cheque; membership includes entry to a number of cross-country fixtures, club track championships and some road fixtures such as the Assembly League, plus a club vest at a discounted £10 on joining (normally £15). A separate track fee applies: £10 per month for adults, or a calendar-year pass covering Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings, with proof of payment required on entry. The club competes in the Southern Athletics League (track and field), Assembly League (road) and Surrey League (cross-country), issues a weekly newsletter each Sunday, runs a podcast, and uses WhatsApp groups for day-to-day communication.
