About

Insch Trail Running Club is a Scottish Athletics affiliated off-track endurance running club based in Insch, Aberdeenshire, focused on trail and hill running. It began as a small social running group and now runs several organised runs and training sessions each week, catering for all abilities. Sessions are coach-led and members also take part in social runs, a club championship and team events.

Training takes place every Tuesday at various locations around Bennachie and Insch, with coach-led hill rep sessions from 19:00 to 20:00. Members confirm attendance through the Team App; first-time runners should email inschtrailrunningclub@gmail.com in advance so a coach can meet them before the session, and must read the club training risk assessment beforehand. Membership benefits include a members-only Facebook group and WhatsApp chat, the Annual Club Championship and Awards Night, the Spirit of Adventure Challenge, regular social runs and meetups, navigation training, training plans from CiRF qualified coaches, and the chance to represent the club in Scottish Athletics hill racing and North District cross country. Fees are £25 per year for senior membership (18+) and £5 per year for social membership. Seniors join via EntryCentral; general enquiries to itrc.membership@gmail.com, or contact secretary Andrew Simpson at itrc.secretary@gmail.com. Members must agree to the codes of conduct and safeguarding policies listed on the Welfare page. scottishathletics affiliated club.
