Senior training runs on Tuesday and Thursday evenings all year, plus one Sunday track session per month at Lachie Stewart Athletics Track in Dumbarton. Tuesdays focus on speed work and hills on the roads around Helensburgh, where bright clothing is required; Thursdays offer either a trail run (trail shoes, suitable clothing and a torch in darker months) or longer intervals around the streets focused on aerobic endurance. Members also meet at Levengrove parkrun in Dumbarton on the first Saturday of each month for a 5km run followed by coffee at the Pavilion Cafe. All sessions are planned and led by volunteer UK Athletics qualified Run Leaders. There is a single annual membership fee with no extra charge for clubhouse facilities on training nights, and the club covers entry costs for track and field, West District and National cross-country competitions; anyone for whom the fee is a barrier is asked to contact the membership secretary in confidence. Prospective senior members can try a session before joining by emailing through the Contact Us form on the site to say when they plan to come along, and someone will meet them to find a suitable training group. The club is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (OSCR number SC048176) and organises the Helensburgh 10K and the Hel'n'Back Trail Race. scottishathletics affiliated club.
