Falkirk Victoria Harriers is an athletics club formed in 1901, covering track and field, cross-country and road running for all ages and abilities. Adults are catered for through senior (18-35) and masters (35+) sections, including a roads group for those training from 5k up to marathons and ultras. Club training nights are held mainly at Grangemouth Stadium, with some groups using the clubhouse next to Victoria Park.
The club has around 250 members, of whom about 140 are juniors, and competes in track and field, cross-country and road races. The roads group covers a wide range of abilities and ages and is supervised by a level 3 coach; typical sessions include hill work, speed work (mile bursts, timed bursts), pyramids, tempo runs, negative splits and fartlek. Members are expected to train twice per week, to compete, and to help the volunteer-run club at least once a year. Membership costs are listed on the site. Enquiries for ages 18 and over go to enquire@falkirkvics.com. New members may initially be signposted to local partners such as Active Schools, Run Jump & Throw or Jog Scotland, each of which has a pathway into the club. scottishathletics affiliated club.
