Ely Runners — a run club in Ely. England Athletics affiliated club. Activities: cross country, hill fell, race walking, road running, track field.
Training groups cover intervals, hills, speed work, repetitions, steady and tempo runs, plus easy social runs on Friday and Sunday mornings; Tuesday has two interval groups and an earlier steady group, Thursday has two steady/tempo groups and one group offering intervals or a steady run. Senior (18+) training is organised and booked through the club's MyClubHouse site, and members book only the sessions that suit them. Many members also attend parkruns at Littleport, Ben's Yard and Soham on Saturday mornings. New member fees are £35 (senior 17-24), £46 (senior 25+), including one year's membership and a free club race vest; renewals are £11 and £22 respectively and fall due each 1 April, with England Athletics affiliation an extra £19 plus 48p admin. Adults may try a couple of sessions before joining — email membership@elyrunners.co.uk (Caroline) or turn up at the Paradise Centre at 7pm on a training evening; joining is via the online member portal. A 10-week structured beginners course for adults runs regularly, contact beginners@elyrunners.co.uk (Justin). The club runs the New Year's Eve 10k and competes in the Frostbite Friendly League and Summer 5k League. England Athletics affiliated club.
