Run club in Eastleigh
Eastleigh Running Club is a UK Athletics affiliated club founded in 1988, based in Eastleigh, Hampshire, with UKA qualified coaches and run leaders. It caters for ages 16 and over at all levels, from keep-fit runners to competitive athletes, and asks only that members can run 5k non-stop. Typical sessions are group runs of varying pace and distance, plus coached speed, interval and strength sessions, alongside social events such as quiz nights and coffee meet-ups.
Club nights are Monday and Thursday at 19:00 at Places for People Leisure, Passfield Avenue, Eastleigh, and Tuesday at 19:00 at Knightwood Leisure Centre, Valley Park, Chandlers Ford, SO53 4SJ; track sessions run on selected Tuesdays at Wyvern College, Botley Road, Eastleigh, SO50 7AN, up to twice a month. Sunday runs are informal group runs on and off road. Membership costs ยฃ33 a year, reducing to ยฃ23 after the first year, with reduced rates for those over 65 and for second-claim members of another UK Athletics affiliated club. Membership includes England Athletics registration, coached and led sessions, a newsletter, social events, a private members Facebook group and discounts from local businesses. The club competes in the Hampshire Road Race League, Hampshire Cross Country, RR10 and CC6 series; an official club vest or t-shirt must be worn when racing as an ERC member.
