Run club in Daventry
Daventry Amateur Athletic Club is an athletics club formed in 1965 and based at the Stefen Hill Sports Ground, where it is one of the member clubs of Daventry and District Sports Club. It uses a floodlit track and field facilities and offers coaching across middle distance, sprints, jumps and throws. Sessions are open to athletes of all ages and abilities, with separate summer and winter timetables.
Training is split into summer (April–September) and winter (October–March) schedules. In summer, Tuesday 19:00–20:30 and Thursday 19:00–20:30 are for Year 7 and above; in winter both Tuesday and Thursday run outdoors 19:00–20:30 at Stefen Hill Sports Centre for Year 7 and above. Additional sessions such as country park cross country and hill running can be arranged on request. Coaching covers middle distance and sprints as well as field events, with named coaches including Trish Thorp, Emerson Combstock, John Pedelty, Diane Clarke and Barry Fenn. Prospective members are invited to visit a Tuesday or Thursday evening session, and to contact the club by email or phone; there is a membership page on the site. The club is self-financing and run by volunteers, and welcomes volunteer helpers with no experience required. England Athletics affiliated club.
