City of Norwich Athletic Club (CoNAC) is a competitive athletics club in Norwich formed in 1996 from the merger of Duke Street RC and Norfolk Olympiads AC, with over 700 members and registered charity status. It covers road running, cross country and track and field for athletes of all ages and abilities, from school-age beginners through to established competitors. The club is run by volunteer coaches, officials and helpers, and members are expected to train regularly and compete for the club.
The club covers track and field, cross country and road running, and expects members to train regularly and be available to compete for the club. Membership is required to train or compete, and fees include the necessary England Athletics registration; a 30-day free trial is offered before committing to full membership. Membership types are Athletic (track and field, cross country, road running and the Athletics 365 youth programme), Off Track (road running and/or cross country only), Second Claim with or without training for members of other England Athletics affiliated clubs, and free Volunteer membership for coaches, team managers and officials. Road running applicants join through the road running enquiry form on the Join CoNAC page; track and field applicants (school year 7 and older, including adults) must join a waiting list, and the lists for sprints, hammer and middle distance/endurance are closed due to capacity. Enquiries by email to join the waiting list are not accepted. The membership officer is Tony Bradfield, contactable through the website. Gift Aid declarations are invited from fee-paying members, and a financial assistance form is available for members facing difficulty with costs.
