Run club in Chard
Chard Road Runners is an England Athletics affiliated running club in Chard, Somerset, established in 1981. It runs from Chard Cricket Club with two club nights a week, catering for beginners through to faster runners. Tuesday sessions are longer with pace groups, while Thursday is a shorter, slower run.
Both club nights start at 19:00 from Chard Cricket Club. Tuesday has up to three pace/distance groups, covering around 5-6 miles in the slowest group and about 10 miles in the fastest; showers and the bar are open afterwards, and the last Tuesday of the month is the club handicap race alongside a monthly bake off competition. Thursday suits beginners, improvers and anyone preferring a shorter, slower run, though all are welcome. Membership is arranged through Connect My Club using club code 67a1c8f4. The club also runs a Couch to 5k course (most recent listed start 9 April at 19:00 at the cricket club), with weekly one-hour sessions, open to over-18s, free to join and with a medal at the end; enquiries to chardroadrunners@hotmail.com.
