About

Canterbury Harriers is a Kent-based running club founded in 1993 and re-constituted in 1997, with over 140 members. It aims to promote running for all standards and ages, and for both men and women. Sessions are coached and range from hill work to leisurely long runs, which in summer often take place in the nearby countryside.

The club meets each Tuesday and Thursday evening at 18:45, with runs and sessions starting at 19:00, at Birleys Sports Pavilion, St Stephen's Road. Training is supervised by qualified coaches, headed by senior (UKA level 2) endurance coach Yiannis Christodoulou, and includes hill sessions and long runs. Members compete in road, track and cross-country events in Kent and abroad, including the East Kent Road Relay Series and the Kent Fitness Cross Country League, and the club hosts the Whitstable 10K on the May Bank Holiday. Social events include club awards evenings and summer pub runs in East Kent. The website has membership, privacy policy and beginner's guide pages, and a contact page, plus Facebook and Instagram pages; no membership fee is stated in the text. England Athletics affiliated club.
