Candy Racing

Candy Racing is a marathon training group and UK Athletics affiliated club based in Hackney, London, founded in 2018 and now in its seventh season. It is aimed at experienced amateur runners who meet entry standards of a sub-3:45 marathon for women or sub-3:15 for men, and works as a six-month cohort following one structured group plan with coaching, mentoring and peer accountability. Training is delivered remotely to athletes worldwide with optional in-person meetups rather than fixed weekly club runs.

The programme runs as a cohort, described as globally accessible with optional in-person meetups; the cohort referenced on the site started 1 July 2025 and lasts six months, aimed at November/December marathons (Valencia or Malaga suggested). It follows a single optimised group plan with personalised elements, weekly live coaching calls and Q&A, a private chat group, a mentor programme pairing members with more experienced athletes, regular performance assessments, and race strategy workshops on pacing, nutrition and mental preparation. Members are expected to train a minimum of six hours across five or six days per week, and an optional autumn training camp is offered. Entry requires a sub-3:45 marathon for women or sub-3:15 for men, and places are limited and by application. The club is affiliated to UK Athletics and UKA membership is included in the fee; the fee is not stated on the site. Reduced-cost places are considered case by case for students or those in financial hardship. Athletes meeting the Elite Pathway standards (sub-2:50 women, sub-2:24 men) receive free membership and coaching plus paid UKA membership.
