About

Calgary Spartans is a non-profit track and field club founded in the 1970s, affiliated with Athletics Alberta and Athletics Canada and a member of the Calgary Track Council. It develops athletes at all levels across sprints, jumps, throws and distance running, and has produced provincial, national and Olympic team members while focusing on developing young talent. Training combines technical work with general conditioning, and members can enter track and field meets.

The site describes a blend of technical and general conditioning in training, with groups including sprints, jumps, throws and a distance group, plus a run-jump-throw fundamentals programme for young athletes. New athletes can attend a free two-week trial before committing to club membership, and registration is handled online along with an Athletics Alberta membership; payments and account queries go through the club's registrar and administration. A meet schedule is published for members who want to compete, and no training days, times or venues are listed on the site; contact details are on the club website. Athletics Canada affiliated club (via AthleticsReg; Cross Country, Distance, Middle Distance).
