Run club in Worcester
Black Pear Joggers is an England Athletics affiliated running club based in Worcester, meeting at Old Elizabethans Cricket Club. It runs groups for all abilities, from a jog/walk group and Couch to 5K beginners through to faster paced runners. Sessions run most days of the week, including a track night, a riverside run and Sunday long runs, with many members staying afterwards for a drink at the cricket club.
Groups cover all abilities, from a jog/walk group covering around 3 miles on most club nights to faster paced groups, plus a 9-week Couch to 5K programme led by qualified run leaders. Runs use a "muster" system where members loop back to pick up those at the back, and members can change groups at any time with no pressure to race. Newcomers can attend up to three sessions with no commitment, and are advised to come to the Monday or Tuesday club runs in running kit and say they are new. Standard membership is £35 a year including England Athletics affiliation (currently £23), or £25 basic membership without affiliation; the membership year runs 1 April to 31 March with reduced fees for joining part-way through. To join, complete the new membership form online, after which England Athletics emails a payment request. Questions can go to the membership secretary or the club Facebook group.
