Run club in Wirral
Birkenhead Athletic Club is a small club formed in 1995 by friends running around Bebington and other parts of the Wirral. It caters for runners of all standards and takes part in the Borders league, multi-terrain and cross country events in the region. Weekly sessions start and finish at the Royal British Legion in Bebington, with runs generally 6-10km and groups sometimes split by speed.
Tuesday evening training sessions vary in type and length, generally 6-10km, starting and finishing at the Royal British Legion in Bebington; members may split into different speed groups but nobody runs alone. Longer Sunday runs of varying distance are arranged on an ad hoc basis via the club WhatsApp group, which members are added to when they join. Reflective clothing and/or head torches are encouraged in winter. The membership year runs May to April but members can join at any time; tier one membership is ยฃ40 per year and tier two is ยฃ20 per year. Club-only events include club handicaps and the Tony Bobby memorial 5k. Club kit is available through a webshop with Appin Sports.
