Run club in Accrington
Accrington Road Runners is a running club established in 1985, based at Accrington Cricket Club, with around 100 members of all abilities. It aims to promote running in the Hyndburn area for fitness, health, pleasure and companionship, with optional opportunities to compete. Training sessions split into four groups by ability and usually cover about 10k.
The club trains each Tuesday at 18:30 at Accrington Cricket Club, where parking is free. Sessions break into four ability groups, each led by a run leader, and typically cover around 10k. Newcomers are invited to come along on a Tuesday for a taster session before joining; membership is £40 for the year and includes affiliation. The club runs a points race series across road, trail and fell races, organises the Accrington 10km, and has social activities.
